The Palms Signature 2 Bedroom Suite

Well it looks like the ThinkComputers crew is starting a tradition. Last year we decided to stay an extra day and get a really pimp room for the last day of our CES trip. We stayed at the Vdara in their 2 Bedroom Hospitality Suite and really enjoyed it. It gave us a chance to relax, get some work done,…

A Trip Back To Beijing Noodle No. 9

When I’m in Vegas I typically try restaurants that I haven’t been to before, but I always seem to make a trip back to Beijing Noodle No. 9 at Caesars. If you didn’t know I am a huge fan of Asian food and on top of that they actually hand-pull their noodles there. That is something you don’t typically see, unless you are in New York or L.A. So Beijing Noodle No. 9 is usually on the list of restaurants I want to eat at each year.

Dinner at Aureole Restaurant

One thing I always like about going to Vegas is trying new restaurants. Sunday night after I got in a hardware vendor invited many members of the press to a dinner to catch up and discuss their plans for the upcoming year. I really like these type of events at CES as they are more laid back and of course…

Wow! What a Vegas Trip This Year!

Each year in January I head to Las Vegas for the Consumer Electronics show and every year I don’t think it can compare to the year before, but this year really blew many of my previous trips out of the water. It seemed like everything fell into place this year and I did some things in Vegas I’ve never done…

Guide To Surviving CES as a Journalist

Well it is January and that means it is CES time for me. CES is the Consumer Electronics Show and it is the biggest trade show in North America. I have been going to the show and covering it for ThinkComputers since 2006 so I think by now I am a seasoned veteran and know my way around pretty well….

Why I Enjoy Going to CES So Much

It is getting to be that time of year again, where I gear up to travel to Las Vegas for the Consumer Electronics Show. I cover CES for ThinkComputers as it is the premier event in North America to go to for technology. I posted a Facebook status about going and someone commented and actually asked if I actually enjoyed…

A Weekend In DC

A couple of weeks ago my friends and I decided to take a road trip down to Washington, DC. We all planned on going to see DVBBS at Echostage, but it was also a chance to see two of our friends who recently moved down there. DC is about a 4-4.5 hour drive from Pittsburgh. Since there was 5 of…

Panera Get Your Act Together…

I am a pretty big fan of Panera Bread, their food is really good and somewhat healthy. Much better to eat there than go to a fast food place. I usually go there to spend the day working, mostly writing reviews for ThinkComuters or blog posts like this one. It is great to get out of the office and work…

Staying at Aloft Silicon Valley

Last month I had the chance to stay at an Aloft hotel. Aloft is Starwood’s boutique hotel chain. These hotels are actually pretty cool and offer a unique atmosphere. I actually first heard of them when they made a custom playlist for Spotify a year or so ago. Since then I’ve always wanted to check them out. I attended a…

Summer 2014 Highlights

Well as you may have noticed I have not blogged in a while. I only really published 1 post a month for the entire summer. I hope that changes soon, but I wanted to recap some of my summer for all who are interested. I should have made posts these things as they were happening, but I guess I was…

Buying a Product Because of Instagram

I’m sure by now you’ve heard of Instagram and most likely have an account. If not Instagram is a simple way to take a share photos, and add some cool filters to along the way. It is a social network as well so you can follow users and see what photos they are sharing. I have been on Instagram for…

Work Hard, Play Hard & More

Well this past Memorial Day weekend was one of the best weekends of my life. I spent each day with great friends and had an all around good time. After all the fun was over I did feel a little down, but the next day I was extremely energized to work and get a lot done. This got me thinking…

Staying at Revel in Atlantic City

As I said in my Time To Reset post I have been traveling over the past month. It is a great way to clear your mind and I always love exploring and going to new places. I had never been at Atlantic City before this year, but I actually really enjoy it. It is like Vegas with a beach! This last time I was in Atlantic City I stayed at the newest hotel in town, Revel.

Interview: Pat Hanavan

Today I am kicking off my interview series with Pat Hanavan. Pat is a pretty close friend of mine. Over the past few years I have seen him be a big part of a start-up Vodka company and build an online community and destination website for Faded Industry. So let’s get this interview started!

The #TIM05 Shipment from Quarterly

I talked about getting my first Quarterly shipment a little while ago, and now I am actually on my 4th shipment from Tim Ferris, the 5th one he has sent out through Quarterly. The reason I like Quarterly over all of those other box-per-month companies is that you are able to follow actual people. If you are following someone you are into you are more than likely going to enjoy the items inside the box.
