Our Las Vegas Suite tradition continues! Each year at the end of a crazy and busy week covering CES the ThinkComputers crew stays in a pretty cool suite. This gives the crew a real chance to relax and just kick back. If you can remember we started with the 2 Bedroom Hospitality Suite at Vdara…
The CES 2016 Swag Haul
Each year when I head to Las Vegas for CES I come back with much more than I came with. This is because companies love to give away swag! You know those little goodies comopanies have at their booth or suite and give to you as a thank you for coming to see them. This…
Seeing Armin Van Buuren 9 Years Later
All the way back in 2006 I went to see my first DJ, it was Armin Van Buuren. I took a little road trip down to Washington, DC with friends to see Armin at a placed called Fur, which is not even there anymore. Armin at the time was ranked #3 in the world, but…
The Palms Signature 2 Bedroom Suite
Well it looks like the ThinkComputers crew is starting a tradition. Last year we decided to stay an extra day and get a really pimp room for the last day of our CES trip. We stayed at the Vdara in their 2 Bedroom Hospitality Suite and really enjoyed it. It gave us a chance to…
How To Throw a Good CES Party
The week of CES is a lot of fun and it seems like every night there are a few parties. CES parties are quite interesting because they are not like your typical party. Most of the people who work in the industry are not typically “party people” or at least not like the people who…
A Trip Back To Beijing Noodle No. 9
When I’m in Vegas I typically try restaurants that I haven’t been to before, but I always seem to make a trip back to Beijing Noodle No. 9 at Caesars. If you didn’t know I am a huge fan of Asian food and on top of that they actually hand-pull their noodles there. That is something you don’t typically see, unless you are in New York or L.A. So Beijing Noodle No. 9 is usually on the list of restaurants I want to eat at each year.
Seeing Steve Aoki at Hakkasan
While I was in Las Vegas I had the chance to check out Hakkasan. It is one of the newest clubs in Vegas and I had yet to go to it. A bunch of industry friends were getting together to go and asked if I wanted to join. Steve Aoki was playing, and while I’m…
Wow! What a Vegas Trip This Year!
Each year in January I head to Las Vegas for the Consumer Electronics show and every year I don’t think it can compare to the year before, but this year really blew many of my previous trips out of the water. It seemed like everything fell into place this year and I did some things…
Guide To Surviving CES as a Journalist
Well it is January and that means it is CES time for me. CES is the Consumer Electronics Show and it is the biggest trade show in North America. I have been going to the show and covering it for ThinkComputers since 2006 so I think by now I am a seasoned veteran and know…
Why I Enjoy Going to CES So Much
It is getting to be that time of year again, where I gear up to travel to Las Vegas for the Consumer Electronics Show. I cover CES for ThinkComputers as it is the premier event in North America to go to for technology. I posted a Facebook status about going and someone commented and actually…
Celebrating 15 Years of Glow with New World Punx
The night before Thanksgiving I went to one of the best EDM shows of my life. Club Glow was celebrating their 15th birthday and what better way to do it than to have New World Punx come and play for an open to close set (9PM – 4AM). Club Glow runs EDM and Dance events in Washington, DC and has been doing so for 15 years. My first EDM even was actually a Club Glow event back in 2006!
A Weekend In DC
A couple of weeks ago my friends and I decided to take a road trip down to Washington, DC. We all planned on going to see DVBBS at Echostage, but it was also a chance to see two of our friends who recently moved down there. DC is about a 4-4.5 hour drive from Pittsburgh….
Lounge 5280 at the Denver Airport
On my recent trip out to Silicon Valley I connected both ways at the Denver International Airport and had lengthy layovers both ways. The first time through I noticed a cool looking bar called Lounge 5280. Since it was early in the morning and I did not feel like I drink I did not stop…
Staying at Aloft Silicon Valley
Last month I had the chance to stay at an Aloft hotel. Aloft is Starwood’s boutique hotel chain. These hotels are actually pretty cool and offer a unique atmosphere. I actually first heard of them when they made a custom playlist for Spotify a year or so ago. Since then I’ve always wanted to check…
Staying at Revel in Atlantic City
As I said in my Time To Reset post I have been traveling over the past month. It is a great way to clear your mind and I always love exploring and going to new places. I had never been at Atlantic City before this year, but I actually really enjoy it. It is like Vegas with a beach! This last time I was in Atlantic City I stayed at the newest hotel in town, Revel.
