Each year when I head to Las Vegas for CES I come back with much more than I came with. This is because companies love to give away swag! You know those little goodies comopanies have at their booth or suite and give to you as a thank you for coming to see them. This…
A Trip Back To Beijing Noodle No. 9
When I’m in Vegas I typically try restaurants that I haven’t been to before, but I always seem to make a trip back to Beijing Noodle No. 9 at Caesars. If you didn’t know I am a huge fan of Asian food and on top of that they actually hand-pull their noodles there. That is something you don’t typically see, unless you are in New York or L.A. So Beijing Noodle No. 9 is usually on the list of restaurants I want to eat at each year.
Dinner at Aureole Restaurant
One thing I always like about going to Vegas is trying new restaurants. Sunday night after I got in a hardware vendor invited many members of the press to a dinner to catch up and discuss their plans for the upcoming year. I really like these type of events at CES as they are more…
Wow! What a Vegas Trip This Year!
Each year in January I head to Las Vegas for the Consumer Electronics show and every year I don’t think it can compare to the year before, but this year really blew many of my previous trips out of the water. It seemed like everything fell into place this year and I did some things…
Guide To Surviving CES as a Journalist
Well it is January and that means it is CES time for me. CES is the Consumer Electronics Show and it is the biggest trade show in North America. I have been going to the show and covering it for ThinkComputers since 2006 so I think by now I am a seasoned veteran and know…
A Weekend In DC
A couple of weeks ago my friends and I decided to take a road trip down to Washington, DC. We all planned on going to see DVBBS at Echostage, but it was also a chance to see two of our friends who recently moved down there. DC is about a 4-4.5 hour drive from Pittsburgh….
Lounge 5280 at the Denver Airport
On my recent trip out to Silicon Valley I connected both ways at the Denver International Airport and had lengthy layovers both ways. The first time through I noticed a cool looking bar called Lounge 5280. Since it was early in the morning and I did not feel like I drink I did not stop…
A Weekend Visiting Finger Lakes Wine Country
I have never been a huge fan of wine, it just really is not my thing. My girlfriend asked me if I wanted to go with her family to the Finger Lakes to visit wineries. While I’m not really a wine person I opted to go along as it is always good to get away….
The 2 Bedroom Hospitality Suite at Vdara
My recent trip to Las Vegas was mostly for business with ThinkComputers as the Consumer Electronics show was the week that I went. After booking flights I found that if I left Monday instead of Sunday I would save around $125 so staying another night in Vegas was a no-brainer. After talking to my buddy Jack about staying an extra day he said we should get an awesome suite for the last night. It sounded like a good idea and we decided on a 2 bedroom hospitality suite at Vdara.
What I Accomplished at CES 2014
Each year I travel to Las Vegas to attend the Consumer Electronics Show. It is a show where many companies show off products that they hope to release in 2014 and many products actually get launched at the show so if you are into computers or consumer electronics it is a really exciting show. But why do I go to the show? Of course to see all of these products, but on top of that I am doing much, much more.
10 Years…
Well my 10 year high school reunion is coming up and that got me to thinking, back when I was a senior in high school I worked at a grocery store and never had any money or was that happy. I was under the impression that college and getting a “real” 9-5 job would change that. Then I decided to risk everything, drop out of college and start my own business. You know what happened? I worked my ass off and built a business that not only allowed me to do the things I wanted to do, I was able to meet some of the most amazing people in my life, travel to places I never thought I would see and most importantly feel like I was actually part of something important that benefited other people.
Why I attend Trade Shows and Conferences
Well it is that time of year again! Tomorrow morning I will be jumping on a plane to head to Las Vegas for the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). If you are going to CES make sure you check on my guide on how to survive the show. Conferences and trade shows are great to go…
A Guide to Surviving the Consumer Electronics Show
As the year comes to an end that means the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is right around the corner. I’ve been going to CES since 2006 and I have learned quite a lot since that first trip where I was totally clueless. This guide should help you survive CES even if you have attended the…
A Change is Needed….
You know for quite a while now I have been doing the same thing day after day. Yes I do have the freedom to work from a coffee shop or Panera, I am my own boss, I can decide that I’m not doing anything on a given day, etc. I should be happy right? Don’t…
A Week Vacation – Was it Worth It?
You know it is not often I go on vacations, something I want to change very, very soon, but when it comes to going on vacations many people make up excuses for reasons they cannot go. When my buddy Adam asked me to go to Hilton Head with him for a week some of those…
