Today I came across this thread on sitepoint. The user talks about he is always told to "Go Get a Real Job", mostly by his parents. This brings back memories of when my parents would tell me to stop spending so much time on my computer. If I would have listened to them I might not be doing what I am doing now, which is making a living off my computer. I do not hear that from my parents for one because I do not live with them, and because I make more than enough money to support myself and they can see that. The biggest reason that parents tend to tell their kids to not spend so much time on the computer is because they themselves do not understand it. They do not understand that you can make a living off the internet. It will not go into all of that, but I will say if you are debating going into the web business don’t let people discourage you by telling you to go get a real job. If you believe in yourself you can do it!
